A burglar stole a small dog and cash from a West Islip home eight weeks ago, Suffolk County police announced Wednesday along with a plea for tips in the case.
The dognapper broke into a home on Higbie Lane through a basement door before stealing a Maltese/Dachshund mix dog that answers to Joey or JoJo between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
The dog was described as weighing13 pounds, tan/cream-colored with black/gray on his ears and on the tip of his tail
Third Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the burglar that stole Joey.
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
