New Hyde Park Woman Awakened by Burglar

A woman woke up to find a burglar fleeing the bedroom of her New Hyde Park on Thursday evening, Nassau County police said.

The 50-year-old victim was awakened by the burglar just in time to see him flee her house through the rear living room window at 7:45 p.m., police said.

The burglar fled empty handed. There was no description of the suspect. The victim was not injured.
