Dense fog and periods of heavy rain Monday will give way to a clear and cool week ahead on Long Island.
The National Weather Service reports that drivers should use caution since the fog will reduce visibility to less than one mile at times before showers taper off early Tuesday morning.
The skies will clear up Tuesday through the weekend with the forecast calling for it to be sunny or mostly sunny through Friday. Temperatures will be hovering around the low 50s and dropping down to the high 30s later in the week.
But the rain is expected to return next weekend with a chance of showers forecast for Saturday night and Sunday.
