Hempstead Man Shot Dead, Gunman Sought

A 20-year-old man was shot dead near his Hempstead village home over the weekend and now Nassau County police are looking for the gunman.

Quavis Ford was in front to 100 Terrace Ave. at the corner of Bedell Street when the gunman opened fire, hitting the victim at 4:23 p.m. Saturday, police said.

The victim was taken to Nassau University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead shortly later.


Homicide Squad detectives are looking the killer, who was described only as a black subject.
