Pedestrian Struck by Car in Baldwin

A 44-year-old man is in stable condition after he was struck by a car Friday night in Baldwin while crossing Merrick Road, Nassau County police said.

Detectives said an unidentified 49-year-old man was driving a 2012 Mercedes Benz eastbound on Merrick Road near Milburn Avenue around 7:30 p.m. when he struck the man who was crossing southbound with no traffic signal or crosswalk.

The man was taken to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition with facial fractures, police said.


“Detectives report no apparent criminality,” police said in a news release, but added, the investigation is ongoing.
