Brentwood House Fire Leaves Man, Dog Dead

Suffolk County police are investigating a Brentwood house fire that claimed the lives of an unidentified man and a dog on Wednesday morning.

Officers responded to a 911 call reported a house fire on Fairdale Drive where they found the home fully engulfed in flames at 6:45 a.m.

Brentwood Fire Department firefighters entered the home and found a man and a dog dead in a rear bedroom before they extinguished the flames.


The Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death and to confirm the identity of the victim.

Homicide and Arson Squads detectives are continuing the investigation.
