Nassau County police are investigating vandalism of a Menorah in Westbury over the weekend as a hate crime—the second such anti-Semitic incident in a week.
Police said a four-foot wooden Menorah that was displayed at the Carman Avenue Green on Carman Avenue was intentionally damaged between 11 p.m. Nov. 30 and 8 a.m. Dec. 1.
The case comes the week after a large Menorah was intentionally knocked over in front of a Temple Judea on Searingtown Road in Manhasset sometime between 5 p.m. Nov. 24 and 5 p.m. Nov. 25.
The Third Squad detectives request anyone with information regarding the latest crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
