East Moriches Man Accused of Burglary, Rape

Patrick O’Sullivan

A 20-year-old East Moriches man is facing allegations he broke into a Stony Brook home while armed with a rifle, held a woman against her will and raped her two weeks ago.

Suffolk County police arrested Patrick O’Sullivan and charged him with first-degree rape, burglary, criminal sexual act, kidnapping and criminal use of a firearm.

Police said O’Sullivan was wearing a mask when he walked in through the victim’s unlocked door between 11p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20.

O’Sullivan will be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip.

The exact location of the victim’s home is being withheld due to the nature of the crime, police said.
