Roslyn Man Killed in Head-on Car Crash

A 63-year-old man was killed in a head-on crash after he swerved to avoid debris in the road in East Hills over the weekend.

Nassau County police said Norman Hecht of Roslyn was driving his Honda northbound on Locust Lane when he swerved into the path of a southbound BMW shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday.

Hecht was taken to Winthrop University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.


The 41-year-old woman driving the BMW was treated at a local hospital and released.

Third Squad detectives found no apparent criminality involved in the crash. Both vehicles were impounded for safety inspections.
