North Amityville Crash Leaves Driver Dead

A 47-year-old Queens man died after the car he was driving struck a utility pole in North Amityville on Monday morning.

Suffolk County police said Teeluckdharrie Maraj was driving his Toyota southbound on Route 110 when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a pole near Ritter Avenue at about 6 a.m.

Maraj was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage where he was pronounced dead.
