Paradegoers at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade got an added surprise this week when they discovered that some of the shredded confetti falling from the sky was actually Nassau County Police Department documents, according to reports.
The police department confirmed that it is looking into how sensitive police documents, which reportedly included police reports, ended up in Manhattan for the popular Thanksgiving bash.
The department “is very much concerned about this situation,” Nassau police’s chief spokesman Insp. Kenneth Lack said in a statement. “We will be conducing an investigation into this matter as well as reviewing our procedures for the disposing of sensitive documents.”
A Nassau police spokesman could not expand on the investigation.
