Dix Hills House Fire Claims Landlord

A Dix Hills house fire claimed the life of a 62-year-old landlord on Thursday evening.

Suffolk County police said Kenneth Horadnitsky’s tenant arrived home and pulled him out of their smoke-filled, burning house on Lauren Avenue shortly before 5 p.m. He then called 911.

Horadnitsky was pronounced dead at the scene.

Firefighters with the Dix Hills and Commack fire departments responded and extinguished the flames. 

Homicide and Arson Section detectives do not suspect foul play.
