A woman has been accused of driving drunk, hitting a 38-year-old man and fleeing the scene near her Bellmore home early Friday morning.
Nassau County police said Marne Morrison-Hackett was driving a Hyundai Elantra westbound on Sunrise Highway when she hit the victim who was crossing near the corner of Rose Place shortly after 3 a.m.
Officers stopped the 31-year-old suspect after she fled and found her to be under the influence of alcohol, police said.
The victim was taken to a local hospital ,where he is listed in critical condition.
Morrison-Hackett was charged with vehicular assault, driving while intoxicated as a felony due to a prior conviction, leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a license.
She will be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
