West Hempstead Bank Robbery Suspect Nabbed

A man was arrested shortly after Nassau County police said he robbed a West Hempstead bank on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said Marcus Pettway handed a note demanding money to a teller at the Bank of America on Hempstead Avenue at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday.

The 25-years-old Rockville Centre man fled with cash but police apprehended him four blocks away.


Pettway was charged with robbery. He will be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
