Belize police say McAfee is the prime suspect in the shooting death of American expatriate Gregory Faull, who was gunned down in his home Saturday night, according to Gizmodo.com.
McAfee and Faull, a restaurant owner, reportedly were arguing, but what the argument was about is still unclear.
“The two men had been at odds for some time,” Gizmodo wrote. “Last Wednesday, Faull filed a formal complaint against McAfee with the mayor’s office, asserting that McAfee had fired off guns and exhibited ‘roguish behavior.’ Their final disagreement apparently involved dogs.”
Gizmodo acquired the official police statement which states 52-year-old Faull was found by his housekeeper face up in a pool of blood with a gunshot wound to the head and no signs of forced entry were found.
McAfee has reportedly been using drugs and acting erratically for awhile now.
According to Gizmodo, in July of 2010, on a Russian-hosted drug message board called Bluelight, McAfee discussed his attempts to purify bath salts under the name “stuffmonger.”
“I’m a huge fan of MDPV,” he wrote. “I think it’s the finest drug ever conceived, not just for the indescribable hypersexuality, but also for the smooth euphoria and mild comedown.”
Speaking about “super perv powder” on another site, McAfee posted, “I had visual and auditory hallucinations and the worst paranoia of my life” and recommended taking a dose via rectal insertion.
“Measure your dose, apply a small amount of saliva to just the tip of your middle finger, press it against the dose, insert,” he posted. “Doesn’t really hurt as much as it sounds. We’re in an arena (drugs/libido) that I navigate as well as anyone on the planet here. If you take my advice about this (may sound gross to some of you perhaps), you will be well rewarded.”
Back in the ’90s, McAfee allegedly allowed his employees to use McAfee offices for sex games.
In August 2009, The New York Times reported that McAfee’s personal fortune had dropped from $100 million at its peak to $4 million due to the global financial crisis. He later sold his software to Intel in 2010 for $7 billion.
In May, McAfee’s Belize property was raided by the Gang Suppression Unit and he was arrested for unlicensed drug manufacturing, allegedly while he was with his reported 17-year-old sex slave. All charges were dropped and McAfee has sued the Belizean government for false arrest.
