Wading River Man, 66, Killed in Crash

A 66-year-old man was killed when his car crashed with an SUV at an interserction in Calverton on Friday morning.

Riverhead Town Police said Joseph Amodemo Jr., of Wading River, was driving his Honda Accord when he was involved in a collision with a GMC Yukon at the corner of Route 25 and Route 25A at 10 a.m.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV driver, 20-year-od Meghan Campbell of Shoreham, was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.


Her passenger, 25-year-old Chris Zollo of Riverhead, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of head injuries.

No charges were filed.
