Hurricane Sandy: Long Island Restaurant Week Extended

The bi-annual and award-winning Long Island Restaurant Week will extend the Fall 2012 campaign through Sunday, November 18. The extension comes as a result of many potential diners who continue to recover from Hurricane Sandy and others who are conserving gas.

Participating restaurants will continue to offer a three-course prix fixe for $24.95 all night, every night they are open except Saturday when the menu must only be offered until 7 p.m. Diners are encouraged to call ahead to double-check with each restaurant.

“As in years past, we will continue to make a donation on behalf of participating restaurants to The Interfaith Nutrition Network and the Family Service League – two extremely credible organizations on Long Island that are suited to serve people affected by Hurricane Sandy,” said Steve Haweeli, President of Long Island Restaurant and Hospitality Group.

Individual efforts, from several participating restaurants, include cell phone charging, food and supply donations and, from Muse in the Harbor (Sag Harbor), 10 percent of Wednesday night’s proceeds go to The American Red Cross.

More than 80 extending restaurants – spanning Long Island’s 118 miles – will serve its own unique $24.95 menu with a minimum choice of three appetizers, three entrées and three desserts. Participants include:
