Long Island Food Distribution Sites for Monday

Nassau and Suffolk county officials released the list of food distribution centers Monday set up by FEMA, Island Harvest and the Red Cross. The locations can change on a daily basis. For more Hurricane Sandy news, click here.


Island Harvest will distribute up to 20,000 sandwiches and drinks today to residents on the streets of the following neighborhoods today through a Mobile Distribution Center:  Atlantic Beach, Long Beach



The Red Cross has opened a number of meal distribution centers Nassau County. Locations are open from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Meals, water, and comfort kits will be distributed at the following locations. Cedar Creek Park in Seaford, Grant Park in Hewlett and Nickerson Beach Park in Lido Beach.

In Suffolk: Dennison building in Hauppauge, 100 Vet’s Highway, Hauppauge; Riverhead County Center 210 Center Drive, Riverhead; Mastic Fire House, 1088 Mastic Road, Mastic


FEMA’s Points of Distribution (PODs) are located throughout the north and south shores of Nassau County.  Locations include:


Atlantic Beach: Silver Point, 2189 Atlantic Blvd.; 99 The Plaza

Baldwin Harbor: Meadow Elementary School – 888 Jackson Ave.

Bellmore: Newbridge Road Park, 2600 S. Newbridge Rd.

East Rockaway: Village Hall, 376 Atlantic Ave.

Freeport: 178 South Ocean

Inwood: The #2 School, 1 Donahue Ave. Ave.

Levittown: Former K-Mart, Hempstead Turnpike

Lido Beach: Lido and Parkside St.

Long Beach: East Elementary – Intersection of Neptune & Hudson; West Elementary – Intersection of Maryland and Beach St.; 85 E. Park Ave.

Massapequa Park: Marjorie R. Post Community Park, 451 Unqua Rd.

Oceanside: Oceanside Park, 3800 Mahlon Brower Dr.


Bayville: Stehli Beach, Corner of Bayville Rd & Bayville Ave.

Great Neck: Great Neck North High School, 35 Polo Road; Great Neck South High School, 341 Lakeville Road

Manhasset: Manhasset Secondary School, 200 Memorial Place

New Cassel/Westbury: New Cassel Community Center, Garden Street

Port Washington: Off Main Street and Haven Ave.

Roslyn: Train Station, corner of Lincoln Ave. and Railroad Ave.

Woodbury: Syosset Woodbury Community Park, 7800 Jericho Turnpike
