Nassau Food Distribution Sites for Sunday

Nassau County released the following list of food distribution sites for Sunday as the Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts continue. For more Hurricane Sandy news, click here.

The list as follows:



Island Harvest will distribute up to 20,000 sandwiches and drinks today to residents on the streets of the following neighborhoods today through a Mobile Distribution Center: Bayville, Port Washington, Glen Cove.


 The Red Cross has opened a number of meal distribution centers Nassau County. Locations are open from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. and 4-6 p.m. Meals, water, and comfort kits will be distributed at the following locations.

Cedar Creek Park in Seaford – Merrick Road, east of Wantagh Avenue

Nickerson Beach Park in Lido Beach – 880 Lido Boulevard

FEMA POD LOCATIONS: FEMA’s Points of Distribution (PODs) are located throughout the north and south shores of Nassau County.  Locations include:


Bellmore: Newbridge Road Park, 2600 S. Newbridge Rd.

East Rockaway: V illage Hall, 376 Atlantic Ave.

Long Beach: East Elementary – Intersection of Neptune & Hudson; West Elementary – Intersection of Maryland and Beach St., 85 E. Park Ave.

Lido Beach: Lido and Parkside St.

Atlantic Beach: Silver Point, 2189 Atlantic, 99 The Plaza

Island Park: Lincoln Ornes Middle School, 150 Trafalger Blvd., Heggarty School, 100 Radcliffe Road

Massapequa Park: Marjorie R. Post Community Park, 451 Unqua Rd.

Oceanside: Oceanside Park, 3800 Mahlon Brower Dr.

Inwood: The #2 School, 1 Donahue Ave. Ave.

Freeport: 178 South Ocean


Bayville: Stehli Beach, Corner of Bayville Rd & Bayville Ave.

Great Neck: Great Neck North High School, 35 Polo Road, Great Neck South High School, 341 Lakeville Rd

Manhasset: Manhasset Secondary School, 200 Memorial Place

New Cassel/Westbury: New Cassel Community Center, Garden Street

Syosset: Syosset Woodbury Community Park, 7800 Jericho Tpke.

New Hyde Park: Michael J. Tully Park, 1801 Evergreen Ave

Port Washington: Off Main Street and Haven Ave.

Roslyn: Train Station, Lincoln Ave & Railroad Ave

Woodbury: Syosset Woodbury Community Park, 7800 Jericho Turnpike
