Prosecutors said they found this dresser drawer filled with cash in Steven Polizzi’s Dix Hills home (SCDA)
Suffolk County authorities said Tuesday they rounded up thirteen suspects, including an ex-NYPD officer, in a marijuana and Ketamine drug trafficking ring.
Police and prosecutors seized more than 200 pounds of marijuana, plastic bags of the powdered club drug and tens of thousands of dollars when they executed search warrants following a 10-month wiretap investigation.
Suffolk District Attorney Thomas Spota said the ringleader was Neil Singer, 47, of Manhattan. His alleged financial manager was identified as 37-year-old Keith Klouda of Miller Place, an ex-New York City Police officer.
The marijuana was shipped from growers in California and sometimes Oregon by cross-country drivers or a major overnight delivery company, Spota said. The ring bought about two kilos of Ketamine—an animal tranquilizer—per month from a website based in China, he added.
The alleged marijuana dealers include 42-year-old Wayne Percetti of Deer Park and Steven Polizzi, 52, of Dix Hills. Scott Cicerone, of Central Islip, was charged with conspiracy and other crimes for his alleged role in the Ketamine distribution network.
The Ketamine was often resold to club-goers in Fire Island, Nassau County and New York City, Spota said.
The suspects will be arraigned Tuesday before Suffolk County Judge James Hudson.
