Nassau County police are looking for a pair of gunmen wanted for a South Hempstead home invasion on Thursday morning.
Police said two men armed with handguns entered a May Street home through an unlocked front door, walked into the bedroom and demanded money from a 69-year-old woman shortly before noon.
One of the suspects ransacked the home, stealing cash, jewelry, electronics and cell phones—including the house phone. A family member returned home shortly later and called police.
The thieves fled the scene in a vehicle in an unknown direction. The victim was not injured.
There was no description of the suspects, one of whom was wearing a mask.
First Squad detectives ask anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
