A Mastic man was arrested on drug charges after Suffolk police saved him from a heroin overdose, police said.
Three officers on Friday responded to a home on Patchogue Avenue at 2 p.m. after a 911 caller reported a man possibly overdosing, police said. When they arrived, they found an 18-year-old in the backyard with a low pulse and incoherent. Two of the officers then administered Narcan, an intranasal medication, while he was overdosing, police said.
The unidentified victim was revived and taken to Mastic Rescue to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center for treatment.
Police then charged him with possession of a hypodermic instrument and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
