Cops Probe Valley Stream Robberies

Nassau County detectives are investigating two separate robberies that occurred just minutes apart in Valley Stream on Thursday.

Fourth squad detectives said the first incident occurred on Rose Avenue at 5:50 p.m. when a man approached a 15-year-old male and took his iPod after threatening him. The suspect then fled on foot north on Mary Street, police said.

Six minutes later, a 14-year-old male walking on Boden Avenue had his iPhone taken, police said. The victim ran away after being threatened by the suspect, police said.

No injuries were reported in either incident.

In both cases the robber was described to be over six feet tall.

A police spokeswoman said detectives are looking into if the robberies are related.
