A man was killed when he crashed his car on the Long Island Expressway in Melville early Monday morning.
Suffolk County police said the driver of a Nissan Altima was heading eastbound when his car left the roadway, stuck a light pole and careened into a wooded area on Express Drive South neat Exit 49 at 2:15 a.m.
The car became fully engulfed in flames. The driver, who has not been positively identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Second Squad detectives are continuing the investigation and ask anyone who has information on this crash to call them at 631-854-8252.
