Suffolk County police have arrested a driver involved in a hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian early Saturday morning in Hauppauge, police said.
The driver, who has yet to be identified, was driving on Route 347 when he struck the 23-year-old Nesconset man just before 5 a.m., a police spokeswoman said.
The man was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
Police have yet to release the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
