An alleged heroin dealer and a half dozen of his customers were rounded up after Nassau County police said they busted back-to-back drug deals.
Police said 24-year-old Jonathan Rogge of Plainview was first seen trading a box of cigarettes for cash with Brian Cosenza, 20, of Old Bethpage, on Tuesday night.
Narcotics/Vice Squad detectives stopped Cosenza’s vehicle and found the cigarette box contained five bags of heroin, police said. He and his passenger, 19-year-old Nicholas Soehngen of Commack, were arrested at the scene.
Detectives also followed Rogge to Franklin Square, where he met Peter Pappas, 26, of Oceanside, and 25-year-old Matthew O’Connor of Franklin Square, a half hour later, police said.
Investigators found more than 30 bags of heroin and about $1,000 cash in Pappas’ vehicle while Rogge was in the backseat, police said.
Eric Norden, 21, of Copiague, and 23-year-old Sean Murphy of Plainview, who were waiting in Rogge’s Jeep, were found have four bags of heroin. All five were arrested.
Rogge was charged with criminal sale and criminal possession of a controlled substance. He will be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
Cosenza, Soehngen, O’Connor, Murphy, Pappas and Norden were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Norden will also be arraigned Wednesday. The rest were released on desk appearance tickets.
