Huntington Station Hit-and-run Driver Sought


Suffolk County police are looking for a hit-and-run driver that seriously injured an unidentified man in Huntington Station on Monday night.

The victim was walking in the westbound lane of Jericho Turnpike when he was struck by a vehicle in front of the 7-Eleven at the corner of Thorney Avenue at 10:36 p.m., police said.

The victim was dragged for about 500 feet before being dislodged from the vehicle in front of the Walt Whitman Motor Lodge. The driver fled the scene.

The victim was taken to Huntington Hospital, where he is listed in serious condition with life-threatening injuries.

Second Squad detectives ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call them at 631-854-8252 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
