This moving documentary chronicles the life of Heba Afify, a 22-year-old Egyptian journalist covering the recent revolution in her country.
Afify’s situation is unusual not only because she is covering historical events as they happen, but also because she is female.
“I know you are a journalist, but you’re still a girl,” her well-meaning mother tells her.
Words of Witness shows the breaking of rules and cultural norms not only in the case of Afify, but also for her entire nation.
