1 Stabbed, 1 Beaten in Riverhead Attack


Authorities are investigating an incident that left one man stabbed and another with a head wound in Riverhead on Wednesday night.

Riverhead Town Police officers responded to a report of an assault in progress at the corner of East Main Street and Howell Avenue, where they discovered the two victims at 8:45 p.m.

Police said Michael Booker, 26, of East Quogue, suffered a stab wound to his right side and 24-year-old Latrice Carter of Riverhead was hit with a blunt object, causing a laceration to his head.

Both victims were taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment. No arrests have been made.
