A Queens man has been accused of using an electronic skimming device to steal credit and debit card information from unsuspecting victims who used an ATM in Franklin Square.
Nassau County police arrested Florin Ilea on Wednesday. The 34-year-old suspect was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument and unlawful possession of a skimmer device.
Police said the Ridgewood resident was seen removing the device from an ATM at the Astoria Federal Savings Bank on Hempstead Turnpike at 10:40 p.m.
He was allegedly found to be in possession of two American Express gift cards that had been fraudulently encoded with account information stolen from the Bank of America.
Florin will be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
