Picture 42“Nothing left but all the time in the world,” says Nash as he sits in a dog cage during a spoof video of popular movie, “The Shawshank Redemption.”

The video quickly turns funny when Nash says, “In 1966, I escaped the Shawshank prison” and begins hawking a drill product dubbed “The Nate-Mate” that leaves the prisoner with an easy escape as well as a little more “you time.”

“With one of these, I guarantee you can get the job done,” he explains before showing all of the product’s additional uses.”Buff your nails, polish your teeth, get rid of those unsightly corns from your feet or get creative and design your very own tattoo,” he says.

The video has proved quite popular, garnering thousands of views since first being posted earlier in July. ‘”Shawshank Redemption” gets the Steve Nash treatment! Steve is locked behind bars, but life imprisonment has never been so much fun – thanks to “The Nash-Mate” all-in-one drill!’ reads the video caption.

The video comes from Nash’s weekly movie parody series, “Nash, Camera, Action,” written, directed and starring the former NBA player.

This parody remembers the 1994 film, “The Shawshank Redemption” starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. The movie became a classic over the years and was adapted from a Stephen King novel. The movie tells the story of Andy Dufresne, a banker who was sentenced to prison after allegedly murdering his wife and her lover in the 1940s. He quickly befriends another inmate, Ellis “Red” Redding, who gives him a rock hammer, a tool that was key in his ultimate escape from prison.Picture 43
