Pop punk band All Time Low took to the stage at Nassau Coliseum Saturday for the 2012 Warped Tour, but first the Long Island Press caught up with vocalist Alex Gaskarth and guitarist Jack Barakat under the shade of a nearby maple tree for a quick chat.
What’s it like being a part of Warped Tour this year?
Alex Gaskarth: It’s amazing, the vibe’s really good. There’s a lot of really, really great bands out this year, so no complaints.
Jack Barakat: It’s definitely the best Warped Tour in years I think. We’re having a great time.
What’s your favorite song to perform live?
AG: Probably “Weightless”. As soon as that bass, the beat kicks in, kids go crazy. It’s become like an anthem for us.
How’s the tour bus?
AG: We have a great time. There’s a lot of man-on-man action.
JB: A lot of male frontal nudity.
AG: We’re not ashamed of our bodies.
Have you spent a lot of time on Long Island?
AG: Yeah, we’ve been here a lot. This place treats us really well. Everybody comes out. Everybody gets crazy. It’s sort of like a big melting pot, too. You get a lot of people from the surrounding areas at these shows, so it’s really cool.
