A hazardous weather outlook is in effect for Nassau County, and meteorologists call for “scattered to numerous thunderstorms” Monday afternoon. The storms may produce damaging wind gusts, heavy rain and frequent lightning and hail.
A similar forecast is set for Suffolk, but the NWS has not issued a hazardous weather outlook for the county at this time.
Last Wednesday a fast-moving thunderstorm swept through the area, downing trees and power lines and flooding local streets. Nearly 4,000 people were without power as a result of the storms.
