Man Crashed Into Valley Stream Dunkin Donuts

An 86-year-old man crashed his car into a Dunkin Donuts in Valley Stream Thursday afternoon, seriously injuring a customer inside the popular coffee shop, Nassau County police said.

The driver and his 85-year-old female passenger were traveling on E. Sunrise Highway around 3:30 p.m. when he slammed into the store, shattering the storefront glass and pinning a 45-year-old male customer inside the store, police said.

The unidentified male victim and two other customers—ages 55 and 60—along with the driver and his passenger were transported to local hospitals. All but the 45-year-old man suffered minor injuries. Police said he sustained internal injuries and is listed in serious condition.

Four employees inside the store at the time of the accident weren’t injured.

Police said a breathalyzer test was performed at the scene but results were negative. There appears to be no apparent criminality at this time, police said.
