A man was arrested for driving while high on drugs after he crashed his vehicle on the Southern State Parkway in North Merrick early Wednesday morning, New York State Police said.
Brian Fisher was driving his Volkswagon when he crashed near the exit for Merrick Avenue shortly before 6 a.m.
Troopers responded to the scene and found the 30-year-old Levittown man failed sobriety tests, police said.

Fisher was also found to be in possession of Xanax and Oxycontin pills, police said.
He was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance and controlled substances not in original container.
He will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead.
