4 Shot at New Cassel Party


Four people gathering for a party in New Cassel Saturday night were shot after three males fired a gun at a group of people standing on the street, Nassau County police said.

Detectives said the three unidentified males fired multiple gunshots at a group standing on Swalm Street just before 11 p.m.

Police said a 21-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his left arm, a 17-year-old female was shot in her right thigh, another male, 17, was hit in his left leg, and a 20-year-old man sustained wounds to his neck and chest.

All victims were taken to local hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The suspects fled north on Swalm Street, police said. Descriptions of the suspects were not available.

Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding the shooting to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
