The Yankees and Red Sox will be facing off in a day-night double-header Saturday, making this day in July feel like a local holiday in New York and Boston.

And if Friday night’s game—or just the dozens of games these two ballclubs have played the last several years—is any indication, sports fans should be prepared for a very long day in front of the flat screens.
Considering how unbearable the heat is outside, maybe sitting on the couch for eight hours in front of the TV is probably not a bad way to go.
The games may be long, but they sure are entertaining.
Take Friday’s game for instance.
Both teams plated five runners in the first inning. Somehow, both starting pitchers—Hiroki Kuroda and Josh Beckett—remained on the mound to give their respective team’s 5-plus innings of work.
The Yankees ended up leaving Fenway Park the victors, winning the game 10-8.
For one night, the Yankees actually didn’t live up to their Bronx Bombers moniker, scoring 10 runs without the assistance of a home run.
So you never know what you’re going to get from these two clubs when they meet—especially during a double-header.
