A 21-year-old man was slashed at an Independence Day party in Westbury early Thursday morning, Nassau County police said.

The victim was at a block party on Maplewood Drive when a man walked up and “motioned to the victim,” who then realized he had been cut in his abdomen at 2:30 a.m., police said in a statement.

The attacker fled on foot. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated and released.

The suspect was described as a black man in his mid 20s, 5-feet, 8-inches tall medium build, light skinned, short hair and a short beard.
