A teenager has been accused of jumping out of a moving stolen car in Bay Shore in an attempt to avoid arrest early Tuesday morning.
A Suffolk County police officer pulled over a Nissan Maxima for a traffic violation on Montauk Highway when all five people inside jumped out of the car and ran away at 3:38 a.m., authorities said.
The officer stopped the Maxima, put it in park and broadcast a description over the radio of the driver, police said.

Officers quickly apprehended the suspect, 17-year-old Demorne Jack of Central Islip, who was arrested and charged with criminal possession of stolen property and reckless endangerment.
Jack will be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Central Islip.
