An alleged drunken boater was arrested after Nassau County police said he struck a Massapequa dock and fled the scene early Tuesday morning.

A 75-year-old woman reported a Boston Whaler-type boat hit her dock, causing about $1,000 in damage, and fled the scene at 2:31 a.m., police said.

Marine Bureau officers quickly apprehended the suspect, 36-year-old John McKnight of Massapequa Park.

McKnight was charged with operating a vessel while intoxicated, failure to stop or report a boat accident and navigational lights not displayed.

He will be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court, Hempstead.
