Man Robbed At Gunpoint in Hempstead

A man was on a date with a woman he met on Facebook when two men robbed him at gunpoint just after midnight Tuesday in Hempstead, Nassau County police said.

Detective said the unidentified 25-year-old male victim arranged a date with the woman through the social network site and met her in the vicinity of Grove Street. The man was sitting in his car with the woman when they were approached by two men who apparently knew the woman, police said.

Both men displayed handguns, police said, and demanded cash from the victim. When the man refused to give up his cash, one of the robbers struck him in the face with the handgun, causing him to sustain a contusion to the nose, police said.
