Levittown Man Ran from Crash Scene, Cops Say

A Levittown man has been accused of trying to flee the scene of a vehicle crash in Peconic this week.

Southold Town Police said Keith Whitenack was making a left turn off of Route 25 eastbound when he was involved in a collision with a westbound vehicle at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday.

The 36-year-old man struck failed to yield the right of way when he hit the vehicle driven by a 49-year-old Peconic woman, police said.
