A Queens man has been arrested for holding up two Franklin Square jewelry stores earlier this year, Nassau County police said.
Robbery Squad detectives charged Darren Elliot with robbery, attempted robbery and criminal use of a firearm.
Police said the 25-year-old Howard Beach man and a second suspect who has yet to be apprehended robbed Luchie Capri Jewelers using a stun gun on May 15 and Stein Family Jewelers using a handgun on Jan. 15.
The alleged robbers were interrupted by a customer while tying up an employee in the first case and fled empty handed but made off with a bag of jewelry in the second case, according to investigators.
Elliott will be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
Detectives ask anyone with information regarding the second suspect to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
