Cedarhurst Gunman Tackles Teen Robbery Victim


Nassau County police are looking for a gunman who tackled a teenager during a robbery in Cedarhurst early Thursday morning.

Police said an 18-year-old man was walking home on Washington Avenue when the masked robber jumped on his back, causing the victim to fall on the ground at 12:35 a.m.

The attacker displayed a dark hand gun as he stole cash and a cell phone from the victim’s pockets.

The gunman then fled on foot eastbound on Oak Avenue. The victim was not injured.

The suspect was described as a black man, 6-feet tall with a slim build, wearing dark pants, white tank top and a dark mask.

Fourth Squad detectives ask anyone with information about this crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
