Grenade Found at Old Bethpage Recycling Plant

A live grenade was found at a Town of Oyster Bay recycling facility on Tuesday morning, although where it came from and who left it there remains a mystery.

A town employee found the explosive devise at the Sort Facility on Bethpage Sweet Hollow Road in Old Bethpage at 11:20 a.m.

Nassau County police said it had been left at a drop-off location set aside for latex paint products outside the facility entrance.

It will be detonated in police bunker at a later date, police said.
