An NYPD detective from Copiague has reportedly been arrested along with three alleged burglars authorities caught breaking into a Lindenhurst home three weeks ago.
Rafael Astacio was charged with burglary on June 3 and was released on $2,500 bail, according to the New York Daily News.
The newspaper cited an anonymous source saying the FBI is investigating whether the 39-year-old was involved in other burglaries in the New York City area.
The NYPD reportedly suspended the 14-year veteran vice and sex crimes investigator without pay.
Also arrested in the case were Paul Adams, 46, Michael Brown, 24, and 31-year-old Joseph Alacqua.
Astacio is due back in court Aug. 9.
