Babylon Man DWI in Crash That Killed Teen, Cops Say


A man was arrested for drunken driving after he was involved in a two-vehicle crash that killed a teenager in Lindenhurst on Sunday night, Suffolk County police said.

Michael Grasing was driving a Nissan westbound on Montauk Highway when he struck the rear of another westbound vehicle, causing the second vehicle to overturn and strike a utility pole near the corner of Buena Vista Boulevard at 10:25 p.m., police said.

The driver of the second vehicle, 18-year-old Brittney Walsh of Lindenhurst, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Grasing, 31, of Babylon, was charged with driving while intoxicated.

He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of minor injuries.

He will be arraigned at a later date at First District Court in Central Islip.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks while the investigation is continuing.
