A multi-agency search is on for a person who went missing near Captree Island after a fishing boat collided with a smaller boat, which was allegedly being operated by someone under the influence of alcohol early Saturday morning, Suffolk County police said.
Suffolk County Marine Bureau divers have been searching for the passenger after the 35-foot long fishing boat with five people on board collided with the smaller boat halfway between Captree Island and Islip just before 5 a.m., officials said.
Two people were on the smaller boat and the operator of the boat, who has yet to be named, was charged with boating while intoxicated, police said.

Both the operator of the boat and the passenger were taken to a local hospital.
The missing passenger was on the larger fishing boat holding five people.
The U.S. Coast Guard is also assisting in the search and is conducting traffic control as divers continue their search.
