Voters approved Tuesday nine Long Island school district budgets that were scaled down and put up for a re-vote after failing on Super Tuesday last month.
The districts include Elmont and Floral Park-Bellerose in Nassau County. In Suffolk County, the districts include Center Moriches, Comsewogue, East Islip, Mount Sinai, Oysterponds, Three Village and Tuckahoe.
The Elmont Union Free School District, an elementary school district, succeeded in garnering a 60 percent supermajority approval in order to over-ride New York State’s new two-percent property tax cap.

The Elmont tax hike was still smaller than the initial proposal that did not pass. Elmont was one of three districts statewide that pierced the tax cap this week.
Twenty four school districts across the state held re-votes that passed.
