Man Flashes, Grabs Woman in Massapequa

Nassau County police are looking for a man who exposed himself and grabbed a woman who let him in her car after the victim asked for directions in Massapequa over the weekend.

The 33-year-old woman was driving her Nissan eastbound on Merrick Road when she stopped and asked the suspect how to get back to the Long Island Expressway at 11:40 p.m. Sunday, police said.

The man told the victim he would show her the way and got in the rear of the vehicle. They continued eastbound on Merrick Road, then northbound on Ocean Avenue.

That’s when the victim looked into the rear view mirror and the suspect pulled down his shorts, exposing himself. The suspect grabbed her around the neck when she pulled over.

She screamed and honked the horn, alerting a resident nearby. The suspect fled on foot southbound on Ocean Avenue.

K-9 Unit, Aviation Bureau and Seventh Precinct police officers conducted an extensive search but did not locate the suspect.

He was described as a white man, 19 to 23 years of age, 6-feet tall, 180lbs., wearing a red shirt and red baseball hat.

Seventh Squad detectives ask anyone with information regarding this incident to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
